Busy weekend

It was a busy weekend on the house front.  The roofers started again at 7:30 on Saturday and finished up around 4:30.  These roofers were one of the best choices we have had so far.  If you live in Falls Church, we have your guys.  They fixed multiple issues on our roof, added a ridge vent, and replaced all of the flashing.  They worked hard, it looks great, and the clean up was amazing.  Beyond the fact that replacing the roof now could save us thousands with all of the damages that were found on the roof, it makes the house look great.
Before

After

After all of the interior work is complete.  We are going to paint the front door.  Jay is going to make new window boxes and shutters.  We are getting new light fixtures and painting the stairs and foundation wall.  To give our little Cape Cod some curb appeal.

On Saturday, the plumbers were back and they installed the tub for the basement bathroom and all of the plumbing for the bathroom.  Our contractor is trying to get the close-in inspection this week for the basement.

The "crew" also installed the basement window (the really expensive one see earlier post).

We still do not have a washer and dryer so back to cosmos I went on Saturday.  I think I may have done 10 loads of laundry but the amazing thing about the laundromat is I was done in about 2 hours.

While I was a cosmos, I headed to the asian grocery store in the same shopping center and found some sashimi tuna and salmon which made for a great dinner.

The house was rennovation free on Mother's Day.  It was an overall great day.  Breakfast in bed, lunch including margaritas, and 2 hours of reading my book this afternoon.  Jace only challenged 25% of everything I said (which is great these days).

Jay and I did move a freezer, washer and dryer out of the basement.  We finally decided the kitchen is just too dirty so our living room is now our kitchen / dining room also.  Every closet in the house has kitchen stuff in it.  Boy are we . . . . .  Counting down the days :)
