Painting with kids

We have been working hard the last couple of days painting since the floors are being refinished today (next time we are hiring a painter).  We are just painting the bedrooms at this point.  The downstairs was recently painted a neutral color.  Painting with kids turned out to be quite the challenge.  Not "Hey Jay I will paint this room, you paint that room."  Now . . . we divide up the night.  I go when Jay gets off work, we meet for dinner, and I take the kids home and put them to bed and he continues.  Painting with kids . . .
Why are you doing that dad?  Because I am patching the holes in the wall.  Why?  Because it looks better.  Why? and so on . . .
 Paint cans are drums . . .
 Jace had to paint . . .

So the bedrooms are done.  We are pretty much painting the same colors that we had in Raleigh.  Our room turned out darker than expected but it will do.  We will do the touching up after the floors are done and I am going to paint a road throughout jace's room.  The big dilemma is the trim.  I would rather it be white but the windows are relatively new but are wood colored.  So to paint the trim all the windows will need to be replaced.  We were not ready for that type of commitment.  Curious how our furniture will look with wood colored trim and maybe it will work.  Here are the rooms painted . . .

 Abby's room
Jace's room (think I am going to paint the built in dresser white - still deciding)

We are also replacing all of the outlets, electric sockets, light fixtures, and vents in the upstairs.
Also this week - met with the pest guy.  (below) There are mice in our basement - lovely.  Met with a chimney guy. He did an inspection and was supposed to clean it but he said it was fine.  Needs to be fixed at the top of the chimney but is in working condition.

We met with 2 HVAC guys this week.  The addition, has baseboard heating (see below) and wall units for AC.  We are worried about the baseboard heating for the kids as well as efficiency.  The wall units are old and ugly.  We wanted to have floor vents put in and hooked to the house's unit.  Well - we have been told it can be done but will not be work.  The suggestion from both companies is a ductless unit for the room http://www.mitsubishicomfort.com/en/consumer/product-solutions/product-showcase .  Pretty pricey.  Good news is the weather is supposed to be nice so we are going to wait on this.  Need to think about the overall plan for the room.

Since the floors are being refinished, good news is we have to be out of the house.  So pretty much for the next week will can't do much.  We may work on the shed this weekend of the yard . . . who knows!
